I made a big long post with all of my recommendations and advice from the year, because I’m only a year older, but I’d like to be more than a year wiser. Tumblr didn’t save all of it for me like it was supposed to.
I think the advice went something like this:
- Don’t let the hand you hold be the hand that holds you down.
- People are always going to let you down, you can’t let it get you down.
- If you do something shitty to a friend without thinking about it, that’s probably a sign that you’re not really friends.
- Speak up, if what you’re saying needs to be heard.
- If you don’t think you’re that strong, wait until you have to prove you are.
See The Muppets, read 11/22/63, read Juliet, read If I Stay, read The Psychopath Test, listen to My Dinosaur Life, watch American Horror Story, watch Doctor Who, and watch The Big Bang Theory.
While it was happening 2011 felt like such a big year full of epic things that happened. Really, it wasn’t. Work was work, school was school, friends were friends. I got Rocktober. I got rid of a shitty boss. I made some new friends. I got rid of some old friends. And at the end of the year, I’m happier than I was at the start, so I’ll put 2011 in the win column and try to make 2012 even better.
