No need to go over Resolution 15 anymore. But seriously. I’ve never realized the stack of things I own that I’ve never watched. In some cases, these were gifts from people and it’s like “Oh… Thanks, yes, I enjoyed the first Sandlot movie. But uh… this decade-late-direct-to-DVD-sequel should be just as good.”
I’ve wanted to watch this one since I first started getting into true crime. I’m always curious about what a director views as the correct interpretation of this crime. This was a particularly heinous crime from the fifties that took place in New Zealand. Here’s the wiki link if you’re particularly interested.
Anyway. This was made by Peter Jackson, and it really shows. One of the things that always stuck with me about the case was the fact that these girls had invented an entire fantasy world for themselves, and this film did a fantastic job showing that. The creative direction of the film was almost something else entirely.
Up next is probably I <3 Huckabees.
